We’re thrilled to share that Cody Soodeen, Founder & CEO of Kara Water, has been honored with the Technological Innovation Award at The King Center’s Beloved Community Awards, celebrating changemakers whose work advances justice, equity, and community in the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

This year’s awards bring together an inspiring group of leaders across industries — including Viola Davis, recipient of the Coretta Scott King Soul of the Nation Award; Billie Eilish, honored for Environmental Justice; Robert F. Smith, recognized with the Salute to Greatness Humanitarian Award; and Warrick Dunn, who received the Yolanda D. King Higher Ground Award.

Being recognized alongside individuals and organizations like the LeBron James Family Foundation, Sesame Workshop, Cisco Systems, and Mónica Ramírez is a testament not only to Cody’s vision but to the shared commitment across sectors to build sustainable, equitable solutions for our world.

We’re also inspired by past honorees whose legacies continue to guide us — from Jenifer Lewis, Nadia Murad, and Ben Crump to Gitanjali Rao, Michael J. Fox, and Black Voters Matter, each advancing Dr. King’s dream in their own powerful way.

Congratulations, Cody! And thank you to The King Center for celebrating leaders who dare to innovate with purpose.
